We specialize in correcting your body’s misalignments. Our goal is to ensure that your spine and the rest of your body are working harmoniously. To do so, we will help you develop a plan that will require light stretching, some exercise, chiropractic care, and a healthy diet.
Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints.
If you often experience foot pain, you may want an effective solution to get rid of the problem. This is because foot pain can really affect your quality of life. Luckily, there are a few simple steps you can take to help ease the pain. One of these steps is using orthotics. Visit us at Marcon Chiropractic & Wellness Center for long-lasting foot pain relief. As part of chiropractic care, our chiropractor in Cincinnati, OH, can help design custom orthotics that will help solve your feet problems.
What Are Orthotics?
Orthotics are inserts that go into shoes to correct alignment and provide support. They are often prescribed to people who suffer from foot pain, but can also be helpful for other issues, such as knee and back pain. Orthotics come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so it is important to find the right pair for your needs. Instead of going for prefabricated orthotics, custom orthotics are the wisest choice. That’s because custom orthotics are made specifically for your feet and shoes, ensuring a perfect fit and maximum comfort.
With the help of our custom orthotics kiosk, we are able to scan a patient’s feet and take 16 measurements. The scanner provides the patient with an understanding of how their feet are affecting the rest of your body’s alignment and pain. We make sure to address the needs of all three arches in the foot.
How Do Orthotics Help with Foot Pain?
Orthotics work to correct the alignment of your feet, which in turn helps to correct the alignment of the rest of your body. When your feet are properly aligned, it puts less stress on your knees, hips, and back. That’s why orthotics are often prescribed for people with foot pain. They can help to relieve the pain and improve your overall function.
There are different types of custom orthotics:
- Rigid orthotics: These are the most common type of orthotics and are made from hard materials such as hard plastic. They provide maximum support and are best for people with severe foot pain.
- Semi-rigid orthotics: These orthotics are made from a softer material and provide more flexibility than rigid orthotics. They are ideal for people with mild to moderate foot pain.
- Soft orthotics: These orthotics are made from a soft, spongy material and are best for people with sensitive feet. They provide moderate support and are ideal for everyday use.
What Foot Conditions Can Custom Orthotics Help With?
Custom orthotics can help with a variety of foot conditions, including:
- Plantar fasciitis
- Heel spurs
- Morton’s neuroma
- Arch pain
Orthotics are beneficial for people with any of these conditions, as they can help to relieve pain and improve function. By relieving pain on your feet, you will be able to walk and stand more comfortably. That will be beneficial in other aspects of your life.

Electrotherapy is an alternative pain management treatment option that involves the use of mild electromagnetic pulses to provide relief for the patient. This treatment option can dull pain, repair tissue, strengthen muscles, and even improve your blood circulation.
With the use of the Graton technique, a chiropractor can mobilize the soft tissue in your body by using an assortment of stainless-steel tools. Manual therapy is based on this type of mobilization; however, this technique simply takes it one step further.
What Does Performing This Technique Accomplish?
This technique is mostly used to break down painful scar tissue caused by an injury or trauma. Our chiropractor will take a tool and move it along the surface of the patient’s skin to allow him to feel out where scar tissue may be. When the scar tissue is found, it is broken up using the appropriate tools. The rubbing of the tool against scar tissue can increase the blood flow around it and as a result, function and mobility are restored. Doctors believe that increased blood flow helps injured tissue heal.
Another popular use for this technique is to cut down restrictions on a patient’s muscles. This is accomplished by improving the ability to stretch connective tissue in the body and by doing so, it trains the body to rearrange the soft tissue structure and heal more efficiently over time.
There are also neurological benefits to using the Graston technique for healing. Patients that have been treated with the technique have experienced the activation of nerve fibers.
If you are suffering from back pain, you may find that receiving the Graston technique helps alleviate soreness. This has proven to be a faster way to treat back pain than many of the other methods available such as anti-inflammatory medication. Patients that have undergone this technique for back pain have reported that the recovery process was easier as a result.

Kinesiology Taping is a precise rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints. This technique allows the body’s normal range of motion as well as providing extending soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting. Kinesio tape is latex-free and hypoallergenic which makes it “skin friendly” for patients with sensitive or fragile skin; such as, patients with diabetes, fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis.

Myofascial release is an intervention administered to various patients to alleviate pain or restrictive tissue problems. The release treatment usually involves the application of gentle or moderate pressure on the connective tissues and leads to relaxation and eventual elongation of the fascia therein. These restrictions are often caused by traumatic accidents or inflammations of the soft tissue. Some patients get them as an after-effect of surgery. They always result in muscular tension and spasm of sharp pain. They cannot be detected through standard diagnosis tests like the x-ray scan. It is essential for a patient to visit a doctor or physiotherapy expert once they notice restriction of movement in the hip area or shoulder. Painful backs can also be a sign of the restriction and can only be treated through the Myofascial Release procedures.
If you have never undergone a Myofascial Release procedure before, you might wonder what will be done. There is no need to panic any way, since it is a minor therapy intervention meant to alleviate any pain that could be as a result of fascia muscle pain and restriction. Here is what you can expect if you visit a standard therapist for your myofascial pain treatment.
- The therapist might have to interview you about what you think the cause of the pain could be. They may also palpitate the affected area to identify the particular fascia that needs to be massaged and given due attention during the procedure.
- A standard treatment should last anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour, but should not last longer than that as that may lead to soreness and fatigue.
- You may experience considerable relief, but if the case is severe, you may need to go for another session or two in the subsequent days.
- The treatment does not require the use of any equipment and creams or gels. The therapist will only need their hands to manipulate and apply slight pressure to the trigger points and affected muscles.
Nutritional therapy is the educated and scientific use of Vitamins, Minerals, phytochemical, promorphogens, Enzymes, essential amino acids and fatty acids to balance the body’s chemical and physiological processes.
True nutritional therapy does not treat disease processes or simply pacify symptoms but provides the body with the nutrients necessary to function optimally.
At Marcon Chiropractic & Wellness Center it is our mission to evaluate each patient individually and design a protocol to re-establish chemical and physiological balance, homeostasis. In this process we assess the diet, medical history (including current and past medications) and lifestyle.
What Makes Our Approach Different?
Americans are spending approximately 17 billion dollars a year on supplements but oddly the rate of disease has not been positively affected and even more confusing are the conflicting studies regarding vitamins. The big difference is the type of supplements being bought by the public and used in research; synthetic versus whole food supplements.
Whole food supplements are what their name suggests: Supplements made from concentrated whole foods. The vitamins found within these supplements are not isolated. They are highly complex structures that combine a variety of enzymes, coenzymes, antioxidants, trace elements, activators and many other unknown or undiscovered factors all working together synergistically, to enable this vitamin complex to do its job in your body.
Isolated nutrients or synthetic nutrients are not natural, in that they are never found by themselves in nature. Taking these isolated nutrients, especially at the ultra-high doses found in formulas today, is more like taking a drug. Studies show the body treats these isolated and synthetic nutrients like xenobiotics (foreign substances).
Not only are isolated nutrients treated like drugs or other chemicals by your body. Like drugs, they can create problems for you too. Nature does not produce any nutrient in an isolated form. The nutrients in foods are blended together in a specific way and work best in that format. For an isolated nutrient to work properly in the body, it needs all the other parts that are naturally present in the food too.
If the parts are not all there from the start, they are taken from the body’s stored supply. This is why isolated nutrients often work for a little while, and then seem to stop working. Once your body’s store of the extra nutrients is used up, the isolated nutrient you’re taking doesn’t work as well anymore. Worse yet, a deficiency in these extra nutrients can be created in your body.
And, because most nutrients are isolated from the foods they come in — using a wide array of potentially nasty solvents and other chemicals — taking high amounts of these products can also expose you to these potentially toxic chemicals, if care is not taken to remove them. With the burden we are already facing from the high number of chemicals in our environment, why would anyone want to add more?

I Only Recommend Brands That My Family And I Use
Over the years these companies have gained my respect and trust as they consistently produce high quality whole food supplements. Moreover, they focus on educating professionals who are not retailers of supplements but health care providers who have relationships with their clients. So, if you haven’t seen these names in the local health food store or pharmacy that’s because they are relying on professionals to make sure the right products and protocols are being correctly matched to the individuals needs.
Take note that it is not legal to sell or purchase products from Standard Process except through a qualified Representative such as Dr. Marcon.
When it comes to sports supplements, especially protein powders, there is only one company, Beverly International. I have been using UMP with my weight loss clients for years with great results. If you already use Beverly products I recommend you check out our prices which are more than competitive with the Chains and we will advise you on which products will give you the results you are looking for.
Chiropractic care is not just for adults. In fact, more and more parents are seeing the many benefits of their children seeing a chiropractor every single day. Some of the benefits are improved sleep, improved behavior and attitude, and improved immune system function. Children encounter many physical stresses in their life that you may not realize. These stresses can cause your child’s spine to have issues in growth and development.
Here at Marcon Chiropractic and Wellness, we offer a conservative approach to treating pregnant women. Our prenatal care is gentle and safe. We aim to alleviate the stress and strains of pregnancy while improving comfort for both the mother and baby. We understand the physical changes that come with pregnancy, and we offer relief without using any drugs.
Spinal decompression is a non-invasive mechanical procedure performed within our office to help alleviate back pain. It involves gently stretching the spine to take pressure off the spinal discs (the cushions that separate the vertebrae in the spine). By relieving this pressure, bulging discs can retract back into place which takes pressure off the nerves in the spine. By decompressing the spine, it permits water, oxygen and other fluids to work their way back into the discs allowing them to heal naturally. Spinal decompression is an excellent option for anyone with chronic back pain who wants to get back to living a pain-free life as quickly as possible.
Functional Movement Assessments
When you visit a chiropractor in the hopes of getting some relief for the pain that you’re dealing with, your chiropractor will work to curate a plan to help your pain. In order to have a successful treatment plan built for you, the first step is to complete a functional movement assessment. This test is the first step to your healing process.
What is a Functional Movement Assessment?
The Functional Movement Assessment is a test that helps gauge your range of motion and in turn helps your chiropractor determine what treatment plan will work best for your circumstance. The assessment consists of a set of seven full-body movement tests that will gauge your body’s starting point at your first visit.
The seven movements the human body can perform include: pull, push, squat, lunge, hinge, rotation, and gait. To test these movements, your chiropractor will have you demonstrate different motions. For example, you may be asked to perform a deep lunge. Each of these movements activate one of the major muscle groups in the body.
What Does a Functional Movement Test Tell Your Doctor?
Once your assessment is complete, you will receive a rating that helps your chiropractor see how well you can perform the tasks at hand. In turn, the results provide a better idea of what will benefit you in the long run and what treatments will work best for your particular issues.

Hands-On Chiropractic Manipulation
Hands-on manipulation refers to direct contact with the spine or other problematic areas by a trained chiropractor. This method is primarily used to correct alignment issues with the spine, which can make it difficult to sit, stand, or move around comfortably. It also allows chiropractors to mitigate pain directly, without the need for invasive procedures or devices. Soft-tissue manipulation, hands-on manipulation, and chiropractic spinal alignment are a part of a portfolio of tools and treatments chiropractors regularly apply to help patients regain their mobility and reduce chronic or severe pain.
The description title of a “hands-on” treatment might cause some hesitation, but chiropractic manipulation has been a well-practiced and supported medical approach to pain management and healing spanning decades of licensed practice.
What is Involved
Chiropractic therapy is a method of treatment that compliments traditional medicine by focusing on the musculoskeletal functions located in particularly the back area or spine. While traditional medicine typically applies either surgery, pharmaceuticals, or immobilization for curing immediate problems, chiropractic manipulation adds in the ability to help the muscular and nervous system to function properly again. As the title implied, chiropractic treatment involves a contact, hands-on manipulation of the body to realign the moving parts again.
The chiropractor’s goal is to reduce pain from misaligned parts and joints, improve function and mobility, and reset how the body moves. This entire biological network is a working system involving the coordination of bone, muscle, ligaments, cartilage, mobility in joints, and connecting points with tendons. When some of these parts malfunction, get injured, or stop working properly, people experience pain and loss of mobility or strength. Chiropractic hands-on manipulation therapy has helped thousands regain their normal life again.
Get the Treatment Specific for Your Situation
Our approach is built around an extensive program of hands-on manipulation and soft tissue techniques. Every treatment is intended to assist in the restoration or improvement of a patient’s mobility. Each initial consultation starts with a functional movement assessment to understand the specifics of your needs. Once our evaluation is complete, each patient is put on a specific, unique treatment to directly address your body’s concerns with maximum benefit.

I’ll admit that I am not a person that thinks everyone should be taking some type of vitamin or supplement. I literally turn the channel when supplement commercials come on the TV or radio. As complicated as the human body is, is it possible that what separates us from health and happiness is tied to a single vitamin or mineral?
I started taking supplements when I was in high school because I wanted to get bigger for football. I was always the skinny kid who didn’t have much of an appetite. Once the football and bodybuilding phase of my life was over, I saw no need to swallow a hand full of tablets or drink protein shakes throughout the day. All I really needed, nutritionally, should have come from what I ate. I stuck with that philosophy well into my late 30s.
The turning point was when I started splitting my pants on a regular basis. My chest had fallen into my belly and butt; I had a “Dad Bod.” While at a Standard Process seminar, they spoke about the SP Purification Program. They had other doctors present and speak about how many of their patient’s had lost 20+ pounds in three weeks on the program. I suppose the stars aligned because I bought the program that day and started it the next week.
I ended up losing 17 pounds in the three weeks on the cleanse. I kept up with the diet and some of the supplements for nine months and ending up losing 55 pounds. While losing the weight was great, there was something bigger that I discovered. I started to sleep through the night, my energy level was better even without coffee or sugary energy drinks, I was no longer bloated after eating, and generally, I was more positive. Something that Dr. Bruce Bond said at the seminar that resonated with me more now than it did nine months ago: “Your mouth isn’t a hairy garbage can.” What we eat influences more than our appearance; it is the fuel that drives every aspect of our being.
I have done the purification program three times since that inaugural plan. Each time the three-week period became easier and easier to a point that it really didn’t alter my diet an iota. I have maintained a body weight of 195 pounds over a decade despite enjoying my weekends where I stray for a day or so. It wasn’t just the diet that changed though: sleep, exercise, and mental health all play a significant role in my health plan.
That is why we recommend Standard Process. Our goal is to help patients begin the process of successful aging. True nutritional therapy does not treat disease processes or simply pacify symptoms but provides the body with the nutrients necessary to function optimally.
At Marcon Chiropractic & Wellness Center it is our mission to evaluate each patient individually and design a protocol to re-establish chemical and physiological balance. In this process we assess the diet, medical history (including current and past medications) and lifestyle. Take note that it is not legal to sell or purchase products from Standard Process except through a qualified representative of the company such as Dr. Marcon.
